01 / CONTEXT

The brief

Nationwide News combined continuing web publishing operations with major changes to newspaper websites and internal systems. The portfolio highlights four major upgrades across The Australian and The Daily Telegraph, alongside advertising, editorial, knowledge-management, and subscription work.

What I owned

• Act as an internal web resource across major upgrades, ongoing operations, consulting, and projects.
• Enable editorial and advertising teams through multimedia production, integrations, prototypes, and content operations.
• Coordinate external vendors, including Microsoft Consulting, alongside internal stakeholders.

03 / EXECUTION

How the work was delivered

The work included SharePoint intranet and knowledge-management projects, plus OpenVMS mainframe API integrations for business-to-business advertising and news workflows. Product designs, prototypes, and proofs of concept explored the next generation of advertising and editorial tools.

I also produced web video and multimedia editorial during major breaking-news periods, including 9/11 and the Iraq War. Omnichannel subscription campaigns and everyday content operations ran alongside platform changes. The role connected the pace of publishing with the implementation work needed to keep evolving the web estate.
